The graphic layer of the membrane switch should not only be aesthetically pleasing, it must endure use in its environment . Since environments vary greatly, the proper faceplate materials must be chosen. Xymox has a variety of materials fully tested and categorized for almost any environment.

Xymox polyester flex circuits are screen printed silver circuits on polyester. They are used as cables to interconnect electronic devices or as a switching device. Xymox can add surface mount components to the flex circuits including resistors, LEDs and capacitors.

Xymox membrane switches can be built with surface mount LEDs embedded into the switch package to provide a cost effective way for backlighting.

In some applications it is preferred to have a rubber keypad for the user interface rather than a membrane switch graphic. Xymox offers multiple construction options when a rubber keypad overlay is required.

Xymox metal dome arrays consist of metal domes loaded on a polyester sheet backed with pressure sensitive adhesive. There are multiple dome diameters available and the layer can be cut to the final size that you require.

An exclusive Xymox manufacturing process produces the industry’s highest quality polyester tactile domes in the graphic layer. Xymox also has the capability to machine place Nicomatic four-leg contact metal domes.
3/4 inch center to center tactile feedback keyboards are ideally suited for use where larger matrices and more switches are needed and user feedback is essential. They offer the user good spacing for finger placement on the key areas as well as offering the designer good flexibility in faceplate design.
